Final Cut Pro X under fire from professionals

Final Cut Pro X under fire from professionals

Apple introduced Final Cut Pro X, upgrade to the editing software. Many have welcomed with open arms, calling it revolutionary and very welcome update, but there are also some very valid complaints. For the most part, this criticism by professional film editors, many of which do not affect the average user.

The New York Times' David Pogue outlines the main issues in detail, which you can find if you want a thorough look at what most advanced Final Cut Pro buffs will probably be frustrated. Short, but the missing elements is the absence of multi-camera editing, remote video surveillance, and the EDL and XML import / export. The backup application disc is also gone. Many users are annoyed at the inability to past Final Cut Pro projects to the new version for further processing as well.

Industry veterans opinions run the gamut and include everything from praise for the product and extremely hard rejection (Walter Biscardi Creative Cow commented "All in all, the worst product launch I've ever seen from Apple or virtually any software maker" has to rounds). Perhaps most revealing is the user reviews, ranging anywhere from one to five stars, but eventually pinning Final Cut Pro X on two and half stars - not the first impression of Apple had hoped.
