Spice Rolls Out Low-cost Sports Phone

Niche phones are not a new phenomenon. There have been a game of telephone, messages, phones, camera phones and other items handsets for ages now. But we did not expect an Indian handset maker to launch a sports-oriented phone one day. Not that there is such a bad idea, but still ..

That brings us to the point of contention here. Spice Mobile has just announced the launch of its newest mobile phone. Known as M-6, the phone is most likely the first sports theme phone from an Indian manufacturer. True to its theme, the phone is perceptibly full of sporty content. The unit comes with a enthusiastic Sports Zone, comes with a variety of sports-centered applications, including Ya Sport, Tennis and Yahoo Formula 1

As for the more phone-like skin tone, here is what we have. The dual SIM device has a front that is festooned with a 2.2 QVGA TFT screen supporting 262k colors. A very basic 1.3 megapixel camera sits on the back. It supports stretchy memory up to 4GB. extra features include an MP3 player, and support for FM radio recording. It also has stereo Bluetooth, WAP and GPRS.Aside from all these, should a 1000mAh battery provide enough time. M-6 also chains social networking applications akin to Facebook, Yahoo and Nimbuzz. Thanks to Opera's tie up with Spice mobile phone, Opera Mini 4 is pre-installed on the phone.
