Samsung take expensive steps to promote the Samsung S Galaxy II handsets. This phone is already well on their own, so I do not think an extravagant promotion is necessary for consumers to hear.
Samsung's latest gimmick Japan for Galaxy II S Marketing is by sending it into space! Samsung along with JP Aerospace in the transfer of S Galaxy II from the ground. They used a balloon and a mini-space astronauts to the send-off. Mini-astronaut was in capable hands the phone as a camera to monitor her every move.
Space Galaxy S II is expected to return to Earth on 15 July and the event will be broadcast through Ustream, so a better mark that date on your calendar.
