Audi RS 3 Sportback

The launch of Audi's newest model made it possible to follow the tire tracks the history of motorcycles.

The company introduced the RS three power-packed Sportback Austria, and a large part of our route was hilly Turracher Hohe, difficult alpine pass in the first Audi quattro prototype of its Executive Board January 1978.

So we were sampling the latest all-wheel-model debut, a place known for the system, and it soon became clear why this location was chosen to display them in a massive road-holding ability.

The new car, a high performance version of the A3 hatchback, five-door form, the appearance of balance, power and pace on it - all he was brilliantly achieved. Styling talking about the performance potential of the car ... look at the same time, however, svelte and muscular.

The front apron has a deeper, which includes an enlarged air intake, charcoal-colored diamond pattern single-frame grille design and xenon plus headlamps with LED daytime running lights. From a side view is dominated by reflection, bright wings (made of carbon fiber reinforced polymer), which includes 19in alloy wheels, a prominent sill extensions, a matte aluminum mirror housing and the appearance of a large roof spoiler. Two elliptical exhaust pipe gives an aura of power behind it.

The inside story of a high quality, fine leather upholstered sport seats with high contrast stitching and silver trim is finished in piano black or a new look Aluminum Race. It is a flat-bottomed RS steering wheel and exclusive design tools.

First-class cabin has a range of standard equipment includes heated front seats, rear window, parking sensors, electronic climate control, navigation system with multimedia features and an elegant sport button that varies throttle response and gives a fuller flavor, even the exhaust sound. Auto configuration for the five-door convenience combines a sporty character.

Turn the key and the five-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine comes with its magnificent exhaust note, a nice soundtrack, the voice of the power of the car, but never intrusive. And speaking of RS 3 power is 340 hp. Performance? The figures speak for themselves ...

0-62 mph 4.2 seconds and 155mph top speed is governed.

And all that oomph is superbly packed, the car is a nice city, quite effortless motorway mil-eater, and, of course, affect the efficiency of the bags, while the quattro system seemed to reach a dramatic Turracher Hohe, with its spiral path, and hairpin turns.

RS 3 is gone, the tight, responsive and agile, sure - but never hard - to ride. Auto power down through the seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch gearbox, which can be used in fully automatic mode, shift gear selector or steering wheel paddles.

Whichever route you choose, change sweet and smooth and continuous all-wheel drive quattro system means traction action, giving the car a truly confidence-inspiring feeling. Mighty disc brakes provide more stopping power.

Technology has a number of RS 3 from regenerative system that recovers energy as the car slows down, strong, lightweight engine block vermicular graphite - and much more.

It was a beautiful hunk of a car to travel for treatment - one that can be enjoyed from the month following the date of delivery of the owners, who have already been snatched up to 500 RS 3s awarded so far in the UK.
