Apple Sued Over Its Use Of 'iBook'

Apple
New York book publishers have a case against Apple to have used the term "iBook" violate the trademark of another publisher for trademark infringement suit filed against the tech giant in less than a week.

Brought suit yesterday J.T. Colby and Co., the U.S. Southern District Court in New York, maintains a trademark acquired in 2006 and 2007 with different types of assets BYRON Preiss, claiming more than 1000 books under the brand "iBooks" since 1999.

Colby acknowledge that the suit is a trademark of Apple "iBook," which is related to the use of the Mac personal computer manufacturer sold 1999 to 2006. But Apple did not start using a term that describes a method for providing an electronic book or electronic book to 2010.

"Apple is using the trademark" iBooks "to indicate an electronic library, which can be accessed on your iPad tablet PC and the iPhone is likely to overwhelm the good will of the applicants' iBooks' and 'ipicturebooks" characters and making them almost worthless, "Case nation.
The lawsuit seeks injunctive relief and unspecified monetary damages.
