‘Learn with Yahoo’ Program Will Make Its Way to Schools
Use of Internet in India is changing rapidly and there is more than 50% of new subscribers tier II cities. The requirement to learn to surf on the Internet is high, which is why Yahoo India has decided to launch his program "Learn to Yahoo 'to schools in the near future.
The program receives a good response from people in the first phase. There are plans to add to the program as it makes its way into schools.
In India there are more people use the Internet on mobile devices than PCs. A 3G-enabled phone is a cheap way for them to connect to the Internet.
Yahoo when India is currently 81.7% of the internet population in India. They look forward to the introduction of e-mails in the local language more attractive for Indian users.
Senior Director, Yahoo India, Nitin Mathur, said: "Increasing use of the Internet is changing rapidly with the metros, who dominated the scene just a year ago to make way for the non-metro cities now." The "Lean with Yahoo program trains new users on different aspects of the Internet. This includes e-mail, search and Internet security.
